TERMS OF REFERENCE

Purpose
The Accreditation and Education Advisory Committee (AEAC) works with the relevant stakeholders to advise the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FMRAC) and its Members the status of how the medical education continuum (undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing) is producing practising physicians who meet, and continue to meet, the healthcare needs of Canadians in a safe, competent and professional manner.

To this end, AEAC:

  • strives to achieve consensus among FMRAC’s Members in their approach to interacting with educational stakeholders, to identify problem areasand to work with partners to propose
  • participates in all levels of the medical education continuum through the accreditation and other methods; and
  • contributes to the development and application of national standards.

AEAC reports:

  • regularly to Executive Committee;
  • annually to the Board of Directors
  • on an interim basis to FMRAC’s Members, as required basis
