Welcoming the President for the 2026-2027 term
JUNE 30th, 2026
The Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FMRAC) is pleased to welcome Dre Isabelle Tardif as President for the 2026–2027 term. In the coming year, Dre Tardif and the FMRAC Board will work collaboratively with medical regulatory authorities and our partners to advance medical regulation in the interest of Canadians.
Dre Isabelle Tardif obtained a medical degree from the Université de Montréal and completed her residency in family medicine at the Bordeaux-Cartierville Family Medicine Unit (FMU). She practised for nearly 20 years as a clinician-teacher at the FMU and worked in acute inpatient care at Saint-Eustache Hospital, while also holding management responsibilities within the residency program. She later joined the Université de Montréal’s family medicine residency program leadership team as Assistant Director and Program Director, where she led several initiatives, particularly in interprofessional collaboration and patient safety. She is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and currently serves as Deputy Executive Director and Secretary of the Collège des médecins du Québec.
FMRAC also welcomes Dr. Grant Stoneham to the role of President-Elect and Dr. Laurie Potter to the role of Treasurer. Dr. Stoneham is the Registrar and CEO of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, and Dr. Potter is the Registrar and CEO of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
We are grateful to Dre Tardif, Dr. Stoneham and Dr. Potter for their leadership and commitment to medical regulation in Canada. Together with its members and partners, FMRAC will continue to support collaboration among Canada’s medical regulatory authorities and advance work that promotes effective medical regulation in the public interest.
