- PUBLICATIONS
FMRAC works collaboratively with the medical regulatory authorities and other experts to develop frameworks, common standards and positions statements.
FMRAC’s publications are intended to promote consistent practices across the country. They are not regulations or rules, as FMRAC does not have any regulatory authority. For specific guidance on discrete topics, consult the rules, regulations, policies and standards of the medical regulatory authority in your province or territory.
Position Statements
Position statements set out FMRAC’s views on important regulatory and healthcare issues.
- Statement on Artificial Intelligence and the Practice of Medicine (2022)
- Statement on Indigenous Specific Racism (2021)
- Statement on Military Physicians (2021)
- Statement on Physician Continuous Quality Improvement (2019)
- Virtual Care Complaints and Physicians Providing Care in Multiple Canadian Jurisdictions (2022)
Common Standards
Common standards reflect the minimum standards that all MRAs have agreed to with respect to a given aspect of regulation.
Frameworks
Frameworks provide guidance and recommendations to medical regulatory authorities or others in the development of their own standards and policies. A framework may include both current practices and agreed goals which are not yet achieved by all regulators.
